Lauren & Devon were just married a couple weeks ago in the backyard Lauren grew up in. It was absolutely beautiful and amazing and I can’t wait to share some of those photos. But, a month or so before their wedding, we got together at the vacation house Lauren’s family has shared for generations for an engagement session. It’s a beautiful and private property on the coast, with a stretch of dock and a lawn for the inevitable barbecues and family reunions. Without a hard-and-fast itinerary for our time together, we worked our way from the historic living quarters at the front of the property, through the shaded lawn in the middle, and then down to the coastline. We were sure to take some photos of the two of them jumping; ironically of course. And even even more ironically, that photo in particular ended up being really adorable.
We had near-perfect weather for our session. It wasn’t too hot and cloud cover was fairly constant, but thin, in other words pretty much exactly what we’d hope for. Our biggest challenge was wind coming off the water, but the imperfections it introduced brought some delightful charm to the final images.
