In Alexandria, about 10 minutes from Old Town, there is a beautiful and unique historic park nestled below the Woodrow Wilson Bridge called Jones Point Park. It can sometimes be quite popular, but it is frequently far less busy than one would expect. The bridge doesn’t raise many eyebrows as you drive across it, but from below, the design and the scale of the structure is rather awe inspiring. So, this is where I met this couple for their mid-June engagement session.
We worked our way north through the park, finally ending up at the historic lighthouse where we captured some snarky and some romantic photos. These two are both marathon runners, and run recreationally together; it’s how they met. So, in an homage to this couple’s origin story, they switched into their running gear and we staged some action shots, and made liberal use of the bridge’s architecture.
