Family Portraits at the DC Wharf in Washington

I had the pleasure of doing another portrait session with Missy, Joe, and their boys at the DC Wharf. The Wharf is a cool location for photos. It’s also tricky. the crowds, busy atmosphere, and lack of convenient (and affordable) parking can be a real challenge, so it’s definitely not for everyone. But this is like the 13th session we’ve done together so we were able to navigate the crowds and find a parking spot without any major issue, and the end result was some really great shots.

We wandered up and down the shoreline and paid a visit to the historic seafood market before it closed for good, and we ended up at these big gas fire pits around sunset. Some of my favorites were around those fire pits.

I had a great time working with the family and I am thrilled that I get capture their personalities year after year. Plus, the DC Wharf was such a cool element in these portraits. Despite the challenges, the location ended up being a great fit for this family, and I am grateful for the relationship we have developed over the years that made it possible.
