It was great getting the opportunity to photograph Brian and Emily with their two boys at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The location is excellent for portraits, with its beautiful natural surroundings and abundance of photo ops. Just a heads up, if you plan to visit, there is a $6 per car fee to drive into the park, but it’s definitely worth it! You can also walk into the park for free, but it’s a bit of a hike to get to the hot spots.
Brian had gifted Emily the session as a surprise just before their second child was born, and it was clear that she was thrilled to have this special time with her family. It was a mild day at the end of April when we met up, and we made the most of it by exploring a lot of what the park had to offer.
One of the highlights of the session was when we stumbled upon a cool green tractor that their oldest child absolutely loved. We ended up returning to it later for a photo of all the boys together, and it turned out to be one of our favorites. We also spent some time at the bridge near the gazebo, where the boys were fascinated by the turtles swimming in the water below.
Throughout the session, Emily looked so happy surrounded by her special boys, and it was clear that she truly enjoys being a mom. We were even able to squeeze in a few quick minutes at the end for some photos of just Emily and Brian as a couple – something that parents know becomes increasingly rare.
