2022 is over, and what a year it’s been for Petruzzo Photography’s wedding, portrait, and commercial photography business. We’ve been absolutely swamped with work, which has been both incredibly rewarding and a little overwhelming at times. But we wouldn’t have it any other way – we love meeting new people and seeing so many new faces. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of someone’s special day, capture a beautiful family portrait, or know that we’ve contributed in some way to someone’s professional dreams and aspirations.
In 2022, we made the decision to upgrade our camera systems. It was a bit of a splurge, but oh boy has it paid off. The difference in image quality is like night and day and it’s allowed us to push the boundaries of our creativity even further. In total, we captured over 250,000 images this year! A lot of them were absolute gems, some were just okay, and some got promptly thrown out.
We had the opportunity to visit a ton of new and cool locations this year, which was a blast. But we also returned to some of our old favorites like Bel Air Mansion in Bowie, McCrillis Gardens in Bethesda, Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, Old Town Alexandria in Virginia, and The Barns at Hamilton Station in Virginia. These places never fail to inspire us and it’s always a treat to work in such beautiful surroundings.
In addition to shooting all of these photos, we also implemented some new editing techniques in 2022 which really helped improve our efficiency and the quality clients have come to expect from us. Plus, we finally caught up on our backlog of blog posts and were finally able to publish images from 2021. See anyone you recognize in there? It’s so satisfying to be able to share our work with all of you and we can’t wait to keep sharing in the future.
One of the highlights of our year was definitely our Mini-Session events in November for headshots and family portraits. These sold out in less than a week, which was totally unexpected but a nice problem to have. We had such a great time meeting all of the participants and we can’t wait to do more of these in the future. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, Felipe got engaged to a smart, clever, beautiful woman named Viviana back in October and they’re set to get married down in Colombia later this year! How exciting is that!?
As we wrap up 2022 and look ahead to 2023, we’re feeling positive. It’s already shaping up to be another great year and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. Thanks for a fantastic 2022 and here’s to an even better 2023!
