A Meandering Senior Portrait Session on the Streets of Downtown DC

A couple months ago, during the last little bits of warm-ish weather, we got together with this dapper chap in Washington DC to create some senior portraits and just generally have a good time meandering about the town.

We met our client for the afternoon outside the African American History Museum where a field trip would be bringing him down from his home in Pennsylvania anyway. The coordination worked perfectly, giving us great weather and not-too-many tourists. The streets around the museum made a beautiful backdrop for the images we would create together. The setting sun and large glass building faces created a lot of interesting portraiture opportunities, and DC’s native slate came in handy more than few times to provide a clean, smooth backdrop.

Senior portraits are both fun, and a great way to commemorate an important time in life. They don’t have to be a major hassle, or planned out to the teeth. A lot of the time all you need for a great session are enthusiasm and two people enjoying a creative journey together.
