I recently had the pleasure of shooting a couples session with Sam and Trang in the beautiful cherry blossom-blanketed neighborhood of Kenwood, Maryland, near Bethesda. I’ve worked with Sam twice before on professional and personality portraits, and this time he brought along his beautiful new wife, Trang.
The couple had their heart set on cherry blossoms for their romantic shoot, but when we initially scheduled to shoot in DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival, things fell apart due to the huge influx of tourists. So, we regrouped and decided to try the Kenwood neighborhood instead. With around 1,000 cherry blossom trees throughout the neighborhood, it was still a popular location, but not nearly as busy as DC.
We found parking at a nearby shopping center and walked into the neighborhood, since there was no street parking permitted within the neighborhood itself. When we arrived, the location was absolutely gorgeous and comparatively quiet, with just a few other photographers and tourists walking down the streets. We shot right around sunset, and although it was colder than expected for an April evening, it actually made for some cute and cozy moments between Sam and Trang.
Congratulations, Sam and Trang! It was a pleasure to capture these memories for you in such a beautiful location. Here’s to many more happy years together.
