I had the chance to photograph a fantastic family earlier this month – Pam, Bruce, and their three children Katie, Andrew, and Benn (plus spouses). We shot these photos on a gorgeous April afternoon in their back yard, where the kids were raised. It was really special to be able to capture these memories in a place that holds so much meaning for them.
As we were taking the photos, I couldn’t help but notice the great rapport and sense of humor the kids had with each other. Their grandmother was also there and added some extra entertainment with her hilarious personality. She even helped hold the light for some of the shots!
Speaking of extra personalities, the family also had two nervous dogs who we were able to include in one of the full family shots. They may have been anxious creatures, but we were able to get some adorable photos of them too.
The late afternoon sun on the property did present some challenges, but we were able to find some shaded spots that worked out perfectly. All in all, it was a fantastic session and I feel so grateful to have been able to capture these memories for this wonderful family.
