Wedding Photography at Johns Hopkins University | Samantha & Andrew

Back in June, we had the amazing opportunity to work with Samantha & Andrew during their wedding at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Samantha’s alma mater. We started off at the Inn at the Colonnade, which is about a 15 minute walk away from The Decker Gardens on campus, where there ceremony would be held. Since Samantha & Andrew opted for a First Look before the ceremony, we decided that we’d meet first at the hotel for some casual shots while they finished prepping themselves, and then we’d work on capturing all the wedding party formals during the trek across campus. It panned out like a dream.

We started with a few shots of Samantha & Andrew, and then created images of the entire wedding party together. Since they had two photographers on their wedding day, once the full wedding party photos were complete, Samantha and her bridesmaids wandered off with William, and Andrew and his groomsmen went off with Felipe. The campus is a big place, so we weren’t getting in each other’s way. Both groups arrived a little early for the ceremony, which was held in front of a beautiful lily pad laden coy pond. After the ceremony and a great time photographing family members, we spent another 20 minutes creating romantic just-married images of Samantha & Andrew. When we were done, there was still a cocktail hour to enjoy.

During the reception, we had the pleasure of working with Jay, from Event Pro, who kept a steady soundtrack behind the excitement and camaraderie, and who had also engineered sound for the ceremony. Chef’s Expressions kept a steady flow of drinks and food throughout the cocktail hour and reception, while Smith Landing Photo Booth helped guests create fun keepsakes, and the gorgeous yellow and blue flower arrangements during the event were supplied by Radebaugh Florist & Greenhouse.
